Heather Thurston  Secretary

MY JOB: Wearer of many hats and the

“go-to-girl” – aka the secretary

MY PROFILE:  30-something, married with two

sons (Brandon 13, Justin 6) and husband, John.

We have two dogs, many fish and the occasional

bugs Justin brings home.  I’m fun-loving, all

about my family, and believe that laughter is the best medicine.

MY LIFE:  Grew up in Southern California with mom and younger brother. Attended a Salvation Army church.  Went to San Diego State to study psychology.  Been with John since 1997.

MY FAVORITES: I am busy carting my boys to hockey, karate, drum lessons, basketball, blah-blah-blah…so my hobbies (reading, shopping, painting) have taken a back seat.  But being a mom is most definitely a favorite!

MY TURN-OFFS:  People who don’t walk what they talk.  People who look down on those who are less fortunate.

John Priester   Elder

MY JOB:  My job at Shechinah is to worry so

that others don't need to.

MY PROFILE: I am 66 years old.  My

temperament is somewhere between

Melancholy and Sanguine, more toward

Sanguine. I'm most likely to speak before I

think and that problem is exacerbated by

frequent memory loss called "Senior Moments".

MY LIFE: Born in Savannah, Georgia; moved to Buhl, Idaho at the age of 15.  Married a local girl, a "Yankee", and we raised three children.  In my career I served four years in the US Navy as an Electrician. In civilian life I became a draftsman/Engineering Technician and after four and a half years of college became a Civil Engineer.  I have been a Registered Professional Engineer and Professional Land Surveyor for the last 30 years.

MY FAVORITES: I enjoy my Grandkids, auto mechanics, especially old trucks, fishing, horseback riding and golf.

MY TURNOFFS: Having to always be politically correct.

MY JOB:  To make God-glorifying potato

salad at every gathering that needs food.

In all seriousness, I help shepherd the

people of Shechinah and give direction to

our church family.

MY PROFILE:  Pushing “over-the-hill”

pretty hard.  I am loving, caring, and

sensitive.  I usually lean towards being the kind of person who looks at the bigger picture and dreams big.  I really do enjoy doing little things that make a big difference.

MY LIFE:  Born in Grangeville, ID.  Lived in Idaho all my life and married my first-grade sweetheart (who left me in the fourth grade for somebody else); I later recaptured her heart and have held on it for over thirty years now.  Been raised and living in the church all my life – give or take a few “wild years” in the seventies. I have two sons, two daughters, four grandkids, three grandpuppies, and a Dalmatian named Lucky that always seems to provide profound insights on life’s greatest mysteries.

MY FAVORITES:  Thoroughly enjoy cooking, wood-working, music, fishing, and diet cherry cola.

MY TURN-OFFS:  Actions done without any regard for how it affects the lives of others and last and definitely not least…a plugged sewer line.
