LIFELINE Youth Ministries (led by
our youth pastor Stefanie Malchow) is seeking to be a "REFUGE FOR
TEENS BUILT ON CHRIST'S LOVE." This has been an interesting
journey to go on as we've tried to tackle the spiritual issues that
face our youth head on. We noticed the starling statistic that 76-86%
of youth were leaving the church upon graduating high school and we
sought to find solutions.
LIFELINE is Family-Based.
We believe that one problem
is the isolation of youth from the adult world. We try to counteract
this problem by flooding our services and activities with adults that
care about the youth of our church.
LIFELINE will not be entertainment-based.
We don't play a lot of games and do shallow activities at LIFELINE.
We don't want to entertain our youth, we want to get REAL. The surprising
thing is that our youth values getting real just as much as we do.
Hmmmm...
LIFELINE has great college leaders that help us teach. We have a great resource in Boise Bible College and we encourage the
college students of Shechinah to help spur on our youth by teaching
the Word of God in a relevant way.
LIFELINE Youth
Service - Wednesdays
(JH:
7:00-8:15pm; HS: 7:40-9:00pm)
The
SUMMIT Gatherings -- LIFELINE wants to be able to enjoy other
youth groups in the body of Christ and enjoy tapping into the
different personalities that exist out there. Therefore, we
will meet with other area youth groups for a
momentum-building, combined effort to grow into the people God wants
us to become.
LIFELINE Cell Groups -
These are
groups where adults take a small group of youth and just love and
care for them; they also try to help bring them along to maturity
in the faith (Times vary; contact the office or Stephanie for more
information)
LIFELINE Activities -
The youth help lead the way
in our outreach and other Shechinah activities; but we also do have
fun on a monthly basis, check out the weekly half-page bulletin flyer
for more info.
