At Shechinah we recognize
the one mission that Jesus gave His church before leaving earth. He
told us to "go and make disciples." Now this has always been a loosey-goosey
concept in the church and we believe that we can identify certain
things we should be doing to assist people and care for people as
they travel their journey.
The PROCESS helps us accomplish that.
This is where you can find out more about what we do at Shechinah,
why we do it, and how you can do it too.
PROCESS classes
(*see below) are
on Sunday evenings from 6:00 - 8:00pm. Look
for a posted and announced schedule for which classes are offered
on which week.
101 - Adoption: Joining
the Family
This
is where the journey of you getting connected to the Shechinah family
needs to begin. This class is crucial to helping us fight some of
those negative vibes you've gotten from other churches that make
you just want to scream "can't we all just get along!?!" This class
will inform you on what being a Christian is REALLY supposed to be
about, what we do at Shechinah and why, and it will define the areas
that cause many churches to fight and quarrel. This class is essential
to us practicing the kind of unity we are supposed to. It is also
in this class where you will realize whether this is the church for
you - or not.
201 - Adolescence: Maturing in the Faith
This
class will help you solidify your place in our family. It will help
you find a group of others that will care for and love you and it
will give you a chance to explore how God made you and where you would
have a BLAST serving!
301 - Adulthood: Caring for Children
(special invitation only)
This is where we start to equip you to minister to others. We are
interested in raising up every person on this journey to a discipl-ING
position in the church of God. We wont each one of you to come to
a place where you can help bring people closer to God.
302 - Advanced Adulthood: Caring for
the Community (301 Required)
Shechinah believes that the church has lost the right to share with
the world. Too many things have happened that have tainted our
reputation. This happened because we stopped loving our enemies with
no agenda. There is nothing else to do but confess, apologize, and
do what we haven't been doing well. 302 Class will help us equip
others to reach out to the community.
303 -
Advanced Adulthood:
Caring for the Creation
(301 Required)
Another neglected responsibility in the church has been the
creation/environment around us. Christians need to be true to their
own message, believing that God wants to redeem and restore ALL of
His creation, not just man's soul. What can we do to make the
physical world a better place?
401 - A Disciple-Maker: Living as
Jesus Did
Believe it or not, we want to make you into a MINISTER. That might
be a paid position and it might not be, but every one of us is called
to a place of ministry. It is at this class that you become a SERVANT
leader of our spiritual family. You've been connected, you've been
equipped, now go and share that love and grace of Jesus and do the
same thing with others.
501 - Farming the Future (Church
Planting)
Shechinah values church planting. We want to not only tithe of our
money, but tithe of our PEOPLE. When God opens up doors to new
church campus, we want to spread the gospel to the end of the earth.
This class will allow us to prepare future church plants before we
send them out.
